The Remember story

Hello, I’m Ollie, founder of Remember.
I hand-finish every Stanhope in our workshop in Cambridge. If you place an order, I’ll be in touch with updates as your item progresses
through the making process.

Why ‘Remember’?

I've long been interested in memory; in how we remember and are remembered. Old family photos hold a particular fascination for me.

My late grandparents left behind thousands of letters and old photographs, much treasured by me and my family. Looking through them made me think about how, in modern life, our memories are captured so differently: our photos are stored on phones, instead of printed in albums.

This concerns me. What will our generation leave behind? Will our children and grandchildren feel the same sense of connection looking at our photos in the cloud, or on our old Instagram profiles? Sadly, I suspect not.

This is why I started Remember: to create beautiful, tangible objects to carry our memories and be passed on to future generations.

The story so far

I set up Remember in April 2023, and spent 9 months developing the concept for my Stanhope pendants. I tested 135 lens prototypes (and made over 1,000 lenses) before settling on the final version. I developed a unique photographic process to create miniature photos, and worked on the designs of the pendants themselves. All this came together in March 2024 when I launched the Original Collection.

Remember has gone on to work with a number of partners such as Sarcoma UK and Child Bereavement UK. Our second product range, the Heirloom Collection, made exclusively in the UK, launched in October 2024.

What’s to come

Spring 2025 will see the launch of a new collection of animal-themed Stanhope jewellery for pet lovers. We’ll also unveil a special version of our signature Stanhope lens made from sapphire. Later in the year, we’ll launch our first range of bracelets.
